Magnificent ring with a very large crystal opal of high transparency that displays  pinkish - orange body color. The opal shows evenly distributed green and blue color play with secondary pinks, orange and violets. The last couple of photos show the ring in different light conditions,  the color is very rich,  just a stunning opal. The ring faces just short of one inch north to south, and the diamonds are expertly matched and very high quality.  

Dimensions / metal : Weights 7.23 grams , size 7 and sizeable , face up is 24mm by 18.5 mm , not marked test 14k yellow gold.

Stones : Approx. 1.4 to 1.5CTW in diamonds G-H and VS2-SI1 average. Opal measures 18mm long by 12.8mm wide and  6.35mm  deep, and is estimated around 8 carats, for a total gemstone weight of 9.5CT.

Condition: Shank is nice and thick, diamonds are all set securely, the opal has a small hairline thin "scratch" on one side, ( there is NO depth to it) you may be able to find it on the second photo, about the 2 o' clock position, this is only really seen under magnification, and I believe is a natural characteristic on the opal rather than crazing, either way both experts who inspected the ring agreed that is poses no risk and both said that it is a rare and valuable stone for it's size and the setting is secure, as the opal is epoxy set with no prongs, as it is common practice with large cabochons.
